About Us

The Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union (formerly "Honolulu Firemen Federal Credit Union") was begun by a group of eleven fire fighters who wanted to promote the act of assisting others with their financial needs.  The credit union received its charter to operate on January 6, 1937.
Back in 1937, the field of membership included employees of the Honolulu Fire Department and their family members.  Over the years, the Board of Directors have elected to remain loyal to this original core, adding only the members of the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association, Local 1463 in its 65 years of existence.  We are truly a fire fighter's credit union.

Today the Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union has grown to 5,500 members and $53 million in assets. We continue to provide a wide array of products and services while proudly filling the financial needs of Hawaii's fire fighters and their families.
